What is Salt & Saline Removal?

Salt and Saline is as a highly effective solution removal method that is totally natural and completely safe for any permanent make up removal.

The main ingredient used is (Salt).Using sterile salt to implement gently under the first layer of the skin. The process is very similar to implementing the pigment (used in permanent makeup techniques) but instead we are lightening and removing it from the skin.

This method is very effective and is used specifically for any removal of previous permanent makeup treatments or small tattoos.

At Avalon we use ‘Salt solution’ to remove old pigment from the skin that has become discoloured or to remove unwanted eyebrow tattoo.

Clients should see result between 4-8 weeks after the first treatment. The number of the treatments will be advised on the consultation day – this all depends how saturated the brows are. Typically, at least 3 treatments are required to effectively lift colour.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to prepare for salt & saline removal

You will need to stop using following products that contain; Retin A, Retinol, Retinoid, Tretinoin & Vitamin A.

The day before treatment it is advised not to wear makeup, drink alcohol, take Ibuprofen, attend the gym, sauna, steam-room or other activities that will cause you to sweat.

Facials, sun-beds or skin peels are also not suitable for at least 2-3 weeks before the salt & saline removal treatment.

Aftercare

For up to two weeks after your appointment, you may experience some swelling around the eyebrows area, flaking, dryness, itching, redness.

It’s very important not to pick flaky skin and not to put any make up for the first week. Avoid steam rooms or the gym for at least 1 week after the treatment. Ointment cream will be provided to maintain dry or flaky skin and SPF will be advised to use after the treatment.

How long the procedure will take

Each session will takes around an hour and we will need to wait between 4-8 weeks for the following session.

Typically you will need 3-4 session but this can be very depending on how saturated your brows are.
